Study philosophy abroad with Erasmus+
You are a student of philosophy at LUH (FüBa, M.Ed., M.A. Philosophy of Science) and are considering studying abroad with Erasmus+? We have compiled the most important information for planning your semester abroad here.

3. Your application to the Erasmus+ programme – first steps
You'll find detailed information about the application procedure on the website of our International Office.
The application procedure begins with an application to the Institute of Philosophy. The deadline is always January 15th for the following academic year. The next deadline is January 15th, 2026, for a semester abroad with Erasmus+ during the winter semester 2026/27 or the summer semester 2027.
- Letter of Motivation: Provide a short overview of why you would like to participate in the Erasmus+ programme and how a semester abroad will fit into your studies.
- Choice of University: Indicate in your motivation letter at which of our partner universities, listed under 2, you would like to study. You may provide a numbered list of up to three choices.
- Record of completed courses: Attach an overview of the courses you have completed so far towards your philosophy degree, e.g. a printout from the QIS.
Please send your complete application to the departmental Erasmus+ coordinator, Dr. Johannes Müller-Salo (johannes.mueller-salo@philos.uni-hannover.de).
You will be notified shortly after the deadline about whether you have been nominated for a place in the Erasmus+ programme.
If you have been nominated, please fill in the online application form for participation in the Erasmus+ programme as soon as possible, and by early February at the latest. You'll find the link on the website of our International Office.
You will then receive information on the next steps from our International Office and the Departmental Erasmus+ Coordinator.
